About Us

Our Roots.

Garland Farms is a small “hobby” farm in Locust Grove, but it wasn’t always this small.

Adolphus Sr, my great grandpa, was farming and sharecropping as far back as I could find, even with his father. He purchased the property my family farms today in the 1920’s with $1200, a mule, and the plow to go with it.

He and Esma, his wife, had children who all knew what hard work was. They worked the land, producing cotton, tobacco, corn, and tomatoes for years and supplied the Elkin’s Grocery in town with some of the freshest veggies.

I am so proud of all of their work and want to leave a legacy for my children and grandchildren to look up to just as my father, grandfather, and greatgrandpa did.

Who am I?

My name is Mackenzie.

My grandpa, Emmett Garland, was the baby of the family. My dad was his oldest son. Somehow everything aligned for me to jump on this opportunity and create something out of our family name.

My mom and I have been working on this for YEARS. I am very proud to say our products have been made by us and pass through no other hands between mine and yours. (Well maybe my husband's LOL)

I am so excited to continue this journey and expand this business going forward.

Love y'all! <3
